  • Check-Ins about how they feel about returning back to school
  • A space for all the information about back to school this year (Teacher name, Grade, School)
  • Choices around how they would like to prepare for back to school
  • Space to identify what they would be looking forward to back at school (with examples)

    Individuals can refer to this social story booklet for information, continued choices, reminders, and as a reference point. Written from the perspective of the individual, centered on their experience, and supports understanding.

    While you can use this social story in a variety of ways at home, some suggested uses are included below:

    • Teaching about starting routines and preparation for back to school
    • Explaining why things are changing now at the end of the summer
    • Visual reminders of what will be happening in August/September
    • Planning out how they want to prepare for back to school with you
