In this Getting a Job Toolkit, we’ll be focusing on the process of getting a job as well as discussing some of the obstacles to getting and keeping a job.

Each individual is in a different place and can benefit from learning about the options available to them.

Getting a job can be a fulfilling experience across many areas: supporting finances, social connections, and quality of life.

Many autistic adults are in the crosshairs of trying to secure a job that they like and is also a good fit. Others may prefer to find some contract work or part-time hours to get out of the house. Another consideration are those who want a job but don’t want to lose their disability benefits.

----

The Lifespan Toolbox is a collection of toolkits for everyone in the autism community from self-advocates, family members, professionals, and other members of the community to get on the same page about autism and lifespan.

We span topics all over the lifespan, specifically thinking about the adulthood years (the longest span of our lives!) and how we can all work together to support the autistic person/people in our lives and community.

Research and reported experiences from autistic individuals show a need to receive individualized support regarding life skills and to be connected with others. That’s where the Lifespan Toolbox comes in!
